Open to both design students and professionals, The Edge is a platform to the Australian market for aspiring talent. Designers enter their work under four categories: Commercial, Concept, Green and Student – the most entered category.

Seating, lights and tables have been widely explored among entries for 2013, and among among the innovative shortlisted designs are the Clam Chair (which can be folded and carried to the beach) by Ben Brayshaw, the flat-packed, sustainable and customisable Holiday Table by Callum Campbell, and the Emerge Display Screen by Alisa Newey.
